Prague
A violinist virtuoso of Russian origin, a graduate of Novosibirsk state academy. A brilliant handling of his instrument is emphasized by his phenomenal abilities of improvisation, often almost ecstatic. "His technique is excellent, he plays clean, beautifully. In addition to that, he has something special... Improvisation. In that, he is absolutely phenomenal, he really defies the rules of gravity!", Ivan Shtraus, professor of HAMU, once said about him.
A clear patter of famous Russian music school can be found in his music, his genre variety is almost boundless. He lives in Prague, which became both for him and his mother (a piano virtuoso) a second home. He has been awarded several prestigious international awards. He performs as a visiting soloist with symphonic and chamber orchestras. As well, he performs solo concerts across Europe. In 2005 he made his very successful debut in America. He composed music for documentaries. Experts regard highly Alexander's precision, virtuosity, and - above all - the distinctiveness of his interpretative style. The Czech television filmed and presented to the public a documentary about A. Shonert "the Way of a violin genius" in 2008.
